Copy, Cut and Paste in languages other than English

I've come across a strange occurrence. When working in any language, except for English, I'm having a hard time copying certain text. For example, I'm trying to create a hyperlink by grabbing the entire sentence. I go through the motions, but it only hyperlinks one word. Same when I try to copy text and place it somewhere else. It only grabs one word. I think it has something to do with the spell check, but not sure. Any ideas??
