No. It is NOT an open relay because the cgi is sending it from the server. In fact, the ONLY IP address in my system I allow to send through the smtp is the server IP address.So, you can tell your IT people to create very closed smtp services on the content server and allow ONLY the ip of the server to send.
I have read all the posts about email service needing to be on the content server, but my IT department wants to know if:"If they mean Open Relay whenthey talk about leaving the SMTP server wide open"Thanks for any answers to this.-Dale
