Carriage Returns in textfields.

Hi,I am trying to develop an assessment with a short-answer textfield (250 characters), and save it to the LMS, checking "Retain values between sessions", however when the user enters line breaks/carriage returns, upon re-entry to the SCO the data is not there (in fact, none of the variable data appears).I think this has to do with the carriage returns and the Lectora mechanism that parses the data back in upon return. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? Thanks,JB

SP3 is the latest version of 2004. I put a sample test out in CourseMill, which is 1.2 SCORM conformant and the data was saved correctly. Here is the link if you would like to test it: coursemill test courseJust click the block/sco link and proceed to the second page of the course. You'll see 3 entry fields where a value can be added. When I type data with hard returns in the field, then exit the course, and return back to page 2, the values are retained. Can you replicate the data not getting saved within this course?Edited By: aaron on 38351.6505902778
Hi Aaron,Actually I am using the Essay field-- What is the latest version of 2004? I am running SP3, is it fixed in later versions? Thanks!
Try using an essay question instead. A short answer question is a single line field only. Using an essay question, I was unable to replicate the problem in the latest version of Lectora 2004 and 2005.Try using an essay question instead. A short answer question is a single line field only.
