Captivate and JavaScrip

Hi Guys,Thanks for all your help. Sorry for delay in getting back. I have mono and it's slowing me down. Ugh.I haven't got a webserver to test it out on. Is there a good free one out there? Where I can have enough space to upload courses like this and test? Here is what I have ended up doing and it appears to work. Btw, I have Captivate 3. 1. Learner clicks mouse image to start sim while on page say, 21, of Lectora Course.2. Mouse has action in Lectora attached to go to next page -page 22.3. Swf set to autostart on page 22. It covers entire page. All other normal nav buttons and banners are disinherited on this page.4. On last page of Sim I made a button called EXIT SIMULATION. Then because there is no option to tell the screen to pause until learner clicks button (that I have noticed anyway) I overlay this button with a clickbox. The clickbox does make screen stop until user clicks it--that is why I used it. I set click box to execute javascript trivNextPage() when it is clicked. 5. The learner is then returned to the next page after the Sim. which is page 23. My client and I are a bit worried that may be confusing. Maybe I should have them return to the original page 21 where they left off? Your thoughts? Do you know what the JavaScript code for this would be? TrivLastPage() ??? 6. The only thing that is annoying about this solution is that I will have to go through and hand number all my pages to work and I'll have to fiddle with Next and Back nav buttons in Lectora to make learner seemlessly return to original page and then skip the page with the sim when they click Next button in Lectora course. I wish I didn't have to run Simulation in a Lectora page...but as HTML is separate window...however, I was unclear on what you guys meant about the javascript not being able to talk with Lectora if it was set up that way. Not sure? Thanks for your help!!! I really appreciate what you've gone to the trouble to share with me in these previous posts.MicheleEdited By: kelechim on 2008-2-8 10:1:37
