BIS Safety/Different SCORM Publishing Options

Our company is switching LMS systems shortly. We will be moving to a platform called BIS Safety. Do any of you use that LMS? I am having issues trying to publish a course to BIS. The Exit/Close button doesn't work and upon completion, the course is not moving from assigned to completed. I have a modify variable, AICC_Lesson_Status set to complete, upon show on the last page. Has anyone had this issue with this system, or your own LMS? Or is there something else that I should be trying?

Solution

The vendor doesn't have a Lectora account but was able to get a copy of the trial version. They can't figure out why the exit button isn't working. Our current LMS is working, we are using UKG Learning. Our courses are published as CMI_Completion_Status. It appears the exit button is what is causing the issue, I will try publishing the course with the exit button hidden and users will have to use the Home button on the LMS to exit the course.

I'm not familiar with the BIS Saftey. Is there someone there who may be able to help you?

Is your current LMS working correctly for you with the same courses? And which LMS is it?

Hi, what do you mean the exit button is not working? Having an exit button is important for ending the scorm session. It will try to close the window but depending on how it is launched it might not be able to close the window.

In those cases it's good to then show and resize a text block with a background to cover the course and write instructions on the text block (You can click home to return to the menu.)

Also maybe try AICC_Lesson_Status set to completed (completed is more generally accepted)

Hope that helps.

By clicking the exit button, it causes an error in the new LMS and the course doesn't complete correctly. The vendor suggested hiding the exit button and adding instructions for the user to click the vendors home button to leave.

Okay, as long as everything is working for you that's great! If there is still an issue, open a case with our customer solutions team and they can work with your vendor. Thanks for using Lectora!
