Timer is not a good idea in my opinion since the timer has no relation to the actual playtime.For example if you had a 10-second movie and had a timer set to display a button after 10 seconds, if the movie takes 5 seconds to buffer and start playing, you're going to have that button appear 5 seconds into the movie...
