Youtube attributes or parameteres

Hello!

I'm new to the community! So please forgive me if I'm not posting in the correct location!

So, I have a question!

I a lesson I'm creating I'm needing to use a video (preferably youtube) however at the end of the video playing it shows "related video" for the viewer to watch after the video is played.

Now in traditional html I can add the &rel=0 or ?rel=0 and this fixes the problem. However, in Lectora Publisher it will not function.

No I can do it as a html extension and that does work, but what I'm wanting is after the video is done playing a next button will be set to visible. (using this method you can play the video-but never fires the action of "show").

I hope that makes sense!!

I do see that I can also add my .mp4 video to my packaged file, however, I'm not sure if it will stream from my LMS one deployed!!

Hope you guys are having a great day!

I would certainly suggest including the mp4 in the course itself if that is a possibility. That way, the "On Done" action will trigger, and you won't have to be concerned about access to YouTube (some IT departments disallow access)

To get the "On Done" when in an external HTML object, you would need to use the YouTube API in your external HTML, (https://developers.google.com/youtube/iframe_api_reference#Requirements), which might be a bit difficult.

Hmm I'm not sure but I'll ask around.

Thanks guys for the info!!! My biggest conern is if the LMS will really stream the content like youtube does. I'm looking at Litmos for our lms and have done some testing and it appears that it's laggy that way. :( I'll keep testing!! :) I'll check out the API!!

Thanks so much!!

I host my videos on youtube, and use the standard action/trigger of "On Done Playing" that is native to Lectora. For mine, when the video is done, I redirect the user to another page immediately. This seems to solve the problem of the person sitting on youtube all day. :)

Great idea Annette!! Thank you so much!! I'm going to try that!!! :)
