Why does Lectora crash periodically?.

I'vwe been using Lectora for a couple of years, and I'm currently using Enterprise Edn 2004 with Service Pack 3 installed and have found it crashes frequently when editing text boxes or deleting a graphic. It's not a memory issue as I'm using a high spec new descktop - though it does exactly the same on my laptop too. Saving my work every 30 seconds to ensure I don't lose anything just isn't a practical option - but ditching Lectora might be unless the bugs are fixed.I'vwe been using Lectora for a couple of years, and I'm currently using Enterprise Edn 2004 with Service Pack 3 installed and have found it crashes frequently when editing text boxes or deleting a graphic. Similar problem experienced here as well. Running Windows 2000 Pro SP4 and Lectora also crashes quite periodically. Also when opening the sample content from Lectora 2004, and running the "History of Kites" course, and selecting the first scroll window it crashes as well...Similar problem experienced here as well. I was realy hoping that 2005 would correct this. But I can vouch that it will happen on a machine running XP.When getting in the flow working a course it is easy to forget to back up but you will find the bug to come bite you at the worst possable time. For my bew years resolution I am going to try and detail what I was doing other than cursing up a storm to try and see if Arron or one of the programers can do something about it.

There were some memory allocation issues in the initial build of Lectora 2005. Updating to service pack 1 (SP1) via autoupdate should resolve the spontaneous crash problem. There were some memory allocation issues in the initial build of Lectora 2005. I get an error message that says, "An unknown error occurred when accessing an unnamed file." that prevents me from opening my title. The image folder is there and all the images are in the folder but I can't open the title. This has happened to me twice now and I've lost significant amounts of work. Does anyone know what causes this? I'd like to avoid this happening to me again?

Does Lectora ever crash on anyone else for no apparent reason? The only common denominator in the times that it crashes is that I seem to be moving too quickly for the software to keep up.My colleagues are experiencing the same thing...

Wysiwyg,It sounds like it might be related to the video card if this occurs while displaying pages. Check to see if there are new drivers out for the video card and install them and see if this fixes the problem. Either by going to the manufacture's website or to the Windows update site and using the custom install option and look in the hardware updates list.Another way to check this through the Windows desktop settings and under the settings tab, click the 'advanced' button and then into the troubleshoot tab. Under the hardware acceleration field, move the slider to None and click OK. See if this resolves the issue.

Yes -- Periodically and at the wrong times. Save your work all the time and never work directly off the server.True for all versions.SP
