When is a course "complete"?

The forums (General, New Users, Advanced) are confusing to me and I have over 800 posts! So don't feel bad. The Tips is the only one I really understand. One tip in general is to be sure to post the version of Lectora you are working with if you are having a problem (which you are not) vs. asking for advice (which you are).Tracking pages is very difficult to do properly. I am working on a solution for HTML, SCORM, AICC but it is not working yet. I think you have to look at WHY you want to mark it complete? If you are dealing with certification, then yes, they should pass the test. If you are dealing with certification, you have to be very careful and track which questions are working and which are not. Then for those that are not, either fix the course or fix the question. If not, then just take the test and let someone know besides the learner if anyone cares. Essentially you have to go to someone who cares, maybe a manager who would be looking at the course stats and ask something like, "If you saw that many people had not completed the course, what would you do?" and "If you saw that a specific individual had started but not completed a course what would you do?" and "If you saw that a specific individual had failed a test, what would you do?" Once you get answers to these, you will have a lot better idea on what it means to complete a course in your organization and how to go about tracking it. This is a bit like typical HR surveys. They throw a bunch of questions down but never consider what they will do based on low, medium, high scores to a particular question. My current client does not care. The course is there to help the employee do their job better. If they don't get what they need, they can go back thru it again. (They have been unwilling to consider that low scores might mean a poor course.) (Low scores could also mean poor questions.)Edited By: bpitman on 2006-11-6 11:34:5
