Video player in X.6: Possible to remove the play button overlay?

We upgraded to Lectora X.6 not too long ago to be able to publish with support for iPads. One thing we just noticed is that the newer video player works more like YouTube, in that you can click anywhere on the video to play or pause, and when it's paused or stopped, a play button appears in the center of the video. Unfortunately, the customer's become accustomed to the old way the player worked (no play button, have to use the controller bar to play/pause), and they want to be rid of the play button in the middle of the video.

Anyone have an idea on how to achieve that, or if it's even possible? I've been playing with the (limited) video options, and not finding anything. Even though this seems to work in the limited testing I've done, I hesitate to use the older version of the player with the X.6-published titles, just in case it might cause a problem in the future, besides the fact it's a pain to have to replace it every time we do a publish.
