Video has black bars across top/bottom

I had to make some updates to a module I completed a few months ago, and it has 2 .flv videos in it. All was working beautifully a month ago.

I had to edit video #2, but didn't touch video #1. Now when I publish, video #1 has 10pixel black bars at the top and bottom. Video 2 is fine.

The exact same thing is happening for all three modules I opened and re-published. Video 1 has the black bars, video 2 is fine.

I've re-inserted the video both as a .mov and .flv and republished multiple times, and no luck.

No playbar, video is set to autoplay. The black bars appear in both Firefox and IE.

Has anybody out there seen this before?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

6 years late but yes, I am having this issue at the moment! Did you ever find a fix?

Strangely when I click on fullscreen mode and then escape back to the player window, the black bars vanish...

I've had this problem before but it usually seems to be because Lectora doesn't take into account the height of the playback bar, which causes the video to be resized by a few pixels and the black bars appear.

Also came up against this without the playbar - managed to fix it but unfortunately it was a case trial and error, tweaking the size of the video player window by a pixel here and a pixel there until it finally sat correctly (and then never, ever touching it again...) Frustrating!

Potential hack - put a black rectangle behind the video (or stroke) to give it a bit of a frame and hopefully minimise how bad it looks?
