Video and markers

Bradley,I have been using more video lately and I have tried a number of tricks. The first course that I did used video that had to be digitized off a VHS, but the clips were all under 5 minutes. The tool that I used to digitize them provided the output in MPEG4 format. I then converted them to WMV files so that I could use the WiMP * to make calls to various objects and to run additional audio clips following the video. This was late last year when we were using Lectora 2006. For that project I did embed the videos directly into Lectora and I provided controls for start, pause and stop. I also provided a Restart button in case anyone wanted to start from the beginning again. The videos would play on cue and then trigger an audio that summarized the clip. All of this was done using WMV files and the WiMP *. There is a very short delay in loading the page, and there has not been any cache problems, probably because the videos are so small.Right now I am trying to insert some training videos that are 19 minutes and 17 minutes respectively and I am having some problems. This time, I left the videos in the MPEG4 format and it seems to run okay, but there is a longer delay as the system loads the larger videos. The delay is probably between 15-20 seconds. Again, I embedded the videos directly into Lectora and they play fine when published to HTML. My problem is that our LMS can't seem to find the video file...but that is for a different forum.I am not sure if this post is helpful to you or not, but feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss it further.John
