Unable to open older Lectora files in v11.3
November 6, 2013 12:00 AM
Hello!
I downloaded v11.3 the other day and went to open up an older Lectora file (created in 2012) and it gives an error message that says "Data file is corrupt or saved by a different version of this product. Some data may be lost." When I click "Ok", a blank version of Lectora comes up with nothing in it and I can't do anything but exit the program.
The file was saved on a previous Lectora version, but shouldn't it still open up with the updated Lectora also? I tried several different files and my coworkers did as well (all on v11.3) and were unsuccessful.
Has anybody else experienced this problem? How can we open up previous Lectora files with the new version of Lectora?
Thanks for any suggestions!
** I could open Lectora files from 04/2013 to present, but any Lectora files from 3/2013 and earlier will not allow me to open or view the material.**

In Lectora 11.3.1, we did fix an issue that prevented you from opening titles in v11.3 that were created in v9. So, if for some reason you are not on the latest version, please be sure to update by downloading the executable here: http://lectora.com/e-learning-software-downloads/
However, we have discovered that you may still experience a problem if that title includes Guides. There is a fix for this coming out in our next service pack (due out very soon!). If you have the ability to remove the guides in an earlier version of Lectora, this should hopefully resolve the issue until you receive the Auto Update of 11.3.2.
I have exactly the same issue with Lectora 11.3.1 when I try to open older Lectora Titles created with v9.a
We expect to release an 11.3.2 service pack in early February.
We're also experiencing this problem and are unable to open files due to Guides being used in the v.9 files. Do you have a release date for the 11.3.2 service pack?
I'm having a similar issue. I can't open .awt files directly from the file. I have to actually open Lectora and browse from the file that way. There isn't even a Lectora icon on the .awt files...as if I don't have the program installed when I actually do. Any ideas?
Uninstall and reinstall Lectora. Only simple solution I know of.

We are into March now and there has been no auto-update to 11.3.2. When can we expect to see the service pack roll-out?
I do not have the ability to remove the guides so this has created a stand still on my content updates. I am still unable to open previous versions in 11.3.1. It is dis-appointing as I would very much like to update the content of these courses.
if it hasn't auto updated already it never will so you should just download directly from the website: http://lectora.com/service-pack-downloads/
