Typing Error in Arabic or Persian

Hi,

There is a problem in typing Arabic or Persian in Lectora Inspire 16.1.2

When you type گ followed by ی they should be attached as گی not گ ی

The same is correct for چ followed by ی as چی not چ ی

‍Please correct this problem, because with these errors this application is not usable to produce Arabic, and Persian courses. Thank you very much.

The same is correct for ی followed by چ - ژ - ک - گ as یچ - یژ - یک - یگ but they type separated

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I've passed along your information to our development team.

Thank you very much for your attention.

I checked the other combinations, and I found more errors. I can explain this problem clearly in 2 categories as below:

1) All of the Arabic, and Persian characters when followed by another one, should connect to the previous character. In Lectora Inspire this is not correct for 3 characters : چ - ک - گ for example : چ followed by ا should be چا not چ ا. This behavior is correct for similar characters like ج - ح - خ

In Microsoft Word, Excel, and others that support these languages, we have a key combination Shift+Space that overrides this connection. If you press Shift+Space after a character, cursor will not move, and the above rule will be overridden.

2) There are some characters to be connected to their next character. They are : ب-پ-ت-ث-ج-چ-ح-خ-س-ش-ص-ض-ط-ظ-ع-غ-ف-ق-ک-گ-ل-م-ن-ه-ی. In Lectora Inspire, when these ones are followed by 4 characters : چ-ک-گ-ژ it is not correct. For example ب followed by چ should be بچ not ب چ. This behavior is correct for similar characters like ج -ح - خ

I want to mention that these rules are met in Microsoft Windows OS, and also in Microsoft Word, Excel, and many other software.

I will be glad, if I can do any more to resolve this problem as soon as possible. Thank you very much.

Hi Payman,

I want to make sure I understand the problem you are reporting. When you say you are typing these characters, are you doing it in a text block, button, shape, question editor? All of the above?

Thanks,

And one more thing.

In questions, there is no option to right align the text.

Hi Darin,

Thank you very much for your reply. I am sorry, I was not aware of your post until today.

In the text block, and question, they are incorrect, but on the button, and shape, they are correct.

We also have another problem:

In the right-to-left languages we need to place the bullets, and numbering on the right side of the text, but there is no selection. When you select the right-align sign, they must be changed. This is also applicable for the bullets in questions (true/false, Multiple choice, etc.)

In Microsoft Word, Excel,.... software, there is a "Right-to-Left text direction" icon along with a "Left-to-Right text direction" icon as seen in the attached photo.

These selections should be available in text blocks, and questions.

Hi Darin,

Is there any update on resolving this issue? Thank you very much.

Lectora Inspire V.17 was released yesterday, but none of the mentioned issues are solved. It seems that Trivantis has no plan to enter Persian, and Arabic countries market.

We're always looking at ways to improve and expand our reach in the global eLearning market. Darin and team are currently working on improving the use and display of Arabic and Persian however, the extensive back-end changes will require a bit more time. We also want to make sure that any implementation is seamless to our customers and don't create more issues then there are currently.
