Two clicks when moving to next page in IE

See this related topic: Topic: Clicking sound when ever an action occursThis appears to be an issue with the events sounds built into the newer versions of Windows and IE. It can be disabled by going to the sounds in the control panel and set the navigation sounds for Windows Explorer to (none.)It appears that IE plays the click sound when you click a button and it also plays an additional sound when the page switches. This is why you get two clicks if the button is taking the user to another page. The events are only built into buttons and do not seem to have this problem on hyperlinks or actions added to images and text boxes. Instead of using an actual button object, try using an image instead and place on click actions on this image. The reason why the Lectora 2005 buttons may not have caused IE to generate the click sound is that they were not truly 508 compliant. In order to make the buttons readable through screen readers an update was added that may now have caused IE to treat the object as an actual button and make a click sound.Edited By: aaron on 2006-7-13 11:26:57
