title freezes

I have one title that whenever i edit objects at title level it cause my system to freeze and become unresponsive for anything up to about an hour. It is only on this one title, and only with the title level objects. Sometime it gives a message saying my autosave function is set to low, but more often it just locks for a very long time.
I cant share the title due to the confidential nature of material (I know it makes trouble shooting tough!) Can anyone suggest where I might start looking for a resolution? I have been working with this title for 2 years or so and until a few months ago there were no issues at all, now if I select an item at title level and even do something as simple as delete 1 character in a text box I can expect it will take approx. an hour before I can do anything.

Answering blind, only thing I can imagine is that you have your source on a network rather than on your C drive. Put it on your C drive. Then in Windows, copy it over to your network from time to time.
You might try exporting the title to an XML file (File > Export). Close Lectora, then re-open the Lectora software (not an existing title) and import the XML. Create a new project in a new location. This has worked a few times for me with something that is "corrupt" in Lectora, but is not a cure-all. Good luck.
