Timings not responding with Audioeditor or action groupings

Help. I'm using Lectora Pro, v.9.2. I cannot get images to respond to timed event commands. The images (jpeg's) appear as though on their own. For example, I'm using WMA files to save space. (Is that the issue?) I've set up 3 event commands within the audio editor, Event 1: on Show/show picture 1 at 1 second; Event 2: on Show/show picture 2 at 12 seconds; Event 3: on Show/Show picture 3 at 18 seconds. However, the three pictures pop up in order immediately after one another. I tried using transitions and no transitions applied directly to the jpegs - no impact.
I also tried using a run action group - no impact. The only way I can get timings to work is if I place them directly on the images. I realize that won't work after published. Any thoughts?
