It looks like this is a bug in the Windows 'smooth font' effect within the IE browser.(On an XP Machine) The setting can be found by clicking on the 'Effects...' button under the Appearance tab of the control panel display properties. UNcheck the option to 'Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts." Click OK. See if this fixes the problem.
