Test Results Through E-mail-Having Trouble Understanding
January 13, 2010 12:00 AM
Hello! I have read a few posts on this forum (example: http://lectoralounge.trivantis.com/forums/2/topics/8173) and I am having trouble putting it into action. I have little to no working knowledge of programming and our I.T. department does not have anyone with decent knowledge of CGI.
Here's what we're trying to do: We want to e-mail test results to one e-mail address without having to use the user's e-mail. I say this because some of our users will be on laptops that do not have e-mail configured properly.
What we are currently doing: I have the test results set up so that it just sends me the scores, their name, and the name of the test. I set up a form on the results page to be hidden from sight and send it automatically. It makes the users click "Yes" to send results, but then they might not have e-mail configured on the laptop. So then they have to retake everything on another laptop.
What I've tried doing: I tried using both codes (the asp code and vbs code provided in the forum topic above). I put them in my form, tested both "GET" and "POST" since I don't really know which to use. Nothing happened. Please let me know if anything needs clarifying!
