Table of Contents - After export, TOC text colour does not change with highlighting

I am having an issue with my table of contents such that:

- Prior to publishing, I get what I want. White text for the TOC items, that turns black with a lightly coloured highlight when an individual item is being displayed.

- After publishing, I get what I don't want. White text that stays white even when the lightly coloured highlight is applied (rendering it unreadable).

The TOC is Tree View, no icons, and I haven't used the frameless in HTML setting as I don't want the text to run off the screen after publishing.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

We're having the same issue using the frameless setting in HTML. Hopefully, someone will answer both our questions.
