Supported Video Files

I have recently tried incorporating video into a Lectora file. But I have found that there aren't many video formats that are acceptable. I have used iMovie and the only format Lectora would accept was the AVI file. After embedding it the image appeared blurry even though the quality is perfect when watching it in Quicktime. What is the best video software to use?
