Subtracting page numbers

I am currently using Lectora Enterprise Edition v9.3 (6343). I need to subtract my resource chapter and popup pages from the total page count. I was able to set an action to subtract a certain number of pages from the RunningPageCount in the 2007 version, but cannot get this action to work correctly in 2009. I've checked the forums and noticed that a solution was found by modifying the Add total pages action and setting the value to the actual number of pages. This works but has anyone been able to use an action to subtract the page numbers so they would not have to be manually entered?
