Stopping auto refresh of swf files

I have created a Flash "job aid" that is placed on the highest level of the course so that it is inherited on all chapters. It is located on the lower left corner of the page directly under the navigation tabs. The user uses the job aid to track their completion manually (long story on why I'm doing this). The main course content is another Flash file (not overlapping any of these).My problem is that the job aid is resetting itself whenever the user moves to a new chapter. This purges the settings the user just made.Is there a way to not refresh this swf whenever the user moves from chapter to chapter?
