sharing lectora variable between titles

I've been having a go with this today. I haven't found it to work. Maybe I am doing something wrong. I have created two titles both with a variable called retainvarvalue. in both titles it is set to retain its value. In one title I set it with a mouseclick to 2 and in the other to 3. I have a button on the first page of each title to show the value of variable retainvarvalue. I published with Include Title Manager Frame and Use Javascript Title Manager. Both html publishes hold onto their values of 2 and 3 respectively i.e they don't share the variable.u got a simple example Ben?thanks
