Selecting through layers

No, you cannot. Here are two ways to work your way around.1. Files menu > General tab. Check Show visibility check boxes in the left-hand pane. Now you will see eyeballs just to the left of each object. Click one and the object is hidden for editing. This has NOTHING to do with how the object displays when the title is published. That is controlled by the Initially visible property one each object. Using this you can hide objects that get in your way.2. Once you have selected an object, it comes to the top of the editing layers. Sometimes this is a real nuisance with transparent text boxes, etc. To get the objects back in their proper order, press F5. F5 does not change whether or not an object is hidden or editable. It just restacks them for editing. Like if you have a small text box on top of a big one but you accidentally click the big text box first, you can no longer click on the small one to edit it until you either leave the page or press F5.
