The ONLY way to minimize this is to preload ALL course graphics in the title to the browser cache, that way they are immediately available to the "next" page when loaded. It's the next best thing to flash.
What would be really great was if the paging function did this for you incrementally - determined what the graphics were that were required for the page being requested and then preloaded the graphics instead of "preloading" them when the page was requested.
Lectora's preloading is kindoflike preloading, except there is a latency built in - the time between the page you left being "unloaded" and the time to "preload" the graphics and then displaying the page.
A simple PHP function will allow you to "preload" all course graphics - and you can run a Lectora Prgress bar while that works - just like Flash . . . .
