reuse buttons in v12
September 30, 2015 12:00 AM
I've created a custom Submit button that I'd like to reuse on each question page in my title. But when I copy the button from one page to another, I notice that Lectora assigns it a new HTML name, which is then used to output the four button states related to it. So if I have 10 questions, I end up with 40 images related to the Submit button, each named for the HTML name and state. Would love to just have submit.png, submit_disabled.png, submit_down.png, and submit_over.png. Is there a way to reuse a button (and thereby its images), or is this not supported in v12?
Thanks!

I don't know all of the details of your custom button, but have you tried placing the button on the Chapter level of the Test? Then via the "inheritance" feature, the custom button would be on all question pages.
Let me know if this helps!
I understand the title-level approach - one button for the whole title. But I'd like to be able to position the Submit button on each page as needed based on the question content and assign actions related to each page. So basically create the button object once, but then use an instance on various page. I'm guessing this is no longer possible in v12.
Nope, sorry I was wrong about that. I guess this issue still has not been addressed. I apologize for the misinformation.
Hi prg1792,
If you create the button using the Image Button option instead of the Text Button option, every instance of the button will use the same set of graphics when published.

Hope this helps.
