In the sections where you do not want it, Open the section Properties and exclude the action on the Inherit tab.This does mean that if the course is restarted and the learner jumps into the middle of one of the subtopics, CurTopic will not be set. No way around that other than hard coding the name in a separate action in each section instead of using the CurrentSectionName variable.
