Resizing Master File

I am having difficulty resizing my course. When I make an attempt at resizing the master slide - it shows on screen - but when i run it in play mode - it plays in the original larger size. Can you help with the resize or is the issue the images on the page? Are they forcing it to be larger? Thanks. jenn
