Resizing Images

As a new Lectora user, I am creating an e-learning course that will have over 100 images (jpegs) and a couple of flash pieces. It will be published for html or maybe an LMS. The images are very large in size. I am concerned that the overall Lectora file size will be extremely large. So Is it recommended to resize each photo, if so, can I do it in Lectora or is it better to do it in another program (if so why and which one) and then bring in the image? What is is the recommended file size?
