Reading a Lectora Value into PHP (or ASP)

I've been rummaging through the support forum for some time but can't seem to find the answer that I'm looking for. So I'd be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. What I'm trying to do is - I would hope - fairly simple. I want to extract a value from Lectora into a PHP (or ASP) script at the top of a page which will then save it to a database or write it to a file. I know that you can read the values into JavaScript variables, and I've seen examples of using PHP (or ASP) to set a Lectora variable. But I haven't been able to find an example of reading a variable value into PHP (or ASP).This only needs to be achieved for a course compiled as an HTML course - I'm not worried about AICC or SCORM so the Title Manager shouldn't be an issue - so I was wondering if reading the variable value directly from the cookie used to store the Lectora data might be the right way to do this? If so, I would need to know the name of the cookie etc. If not, any alternative suggestions would be gratefully received!
