"Paste as" option

Hi there. I apologize if this question was asked before. I could not find it in my forum search.

What determines which options are available when you click paste as with an image? I noticed when I copy an image out of powerpoint I can automatically convert it to about any format. If I copy/paste from the SnagIT preview screen I have no options other than bmp. I figure there must be something different in how the software is copying to the clipboard given the Microsoft products are always giving me the most options. In fact I found I can paste an image out of snag it, into ppt and then copy out of ppt and get a wide array of options.

I'm just wondering what it is that drives the options available for Lectora to convert it as you paste it in. (would love to be able to copy straight out of snagit preview into Lectora as jpg.)
