Thanks, Ludo. Actually, I went looking through the Quicktime options and found something called a video "safe mode". Turning that switch on has solved the problem.The Safe mode in Quicktime bypasses DirectX, so it appears that there is a conflict with Lectora, QT, and at least one version of DirectX. and possibly also my NVIDIO 8800 video card. (Are the Trivantis techies listening?)Problem solved for now, though. Ted Leib
