Problem with text appearing when hidden

Here is my problemLets say I have two clickable text elements set to play audio and have text that sycns with the audio(using show actions and timed transitions within the text elements.) Now, I have both clickable text elements set to stop the audio and hide the text for the other clickable text element. The problem is this, if all the text has not appeared on screen for one of the clickable elements AND I click on the other one(that should hide the previous one) the text still appears and screws up everything. This seems like really buggy behavior as the text should be hidden. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if what I posted didnt make sense.thanks very much!
