Problem with Lectora X.4 and Flash CS6 produced SWFs in IE

Weird problem here. We recently upgraded to Flash Professional CS6 after using CS5 for a number of years.

In Lectora X.4, when we publish content which has a Flash CS5 SWF embedded, everything works fine. With a CS6 embedded SWF, there is a long (30 second) blank screen hang before the page loads, and the browser is inaccessible during this time.

This only happens in Internet Explorer (tested on IE8 on XP, IE9 and IE10 in Windows 7). The same problem does not occur in Google Chrome.

I have tried publishing the SWF in earlier versions of Flash Player (in Adobe Flash CS6), but it has the same result. If I republish the same SWF in Flash CS5, I do not have this issue.

This appears to only occur on computers that are on our corporate network/standard operating environment. I have tested it on two other computers with different environments and it does not seem to have the issue.

It seems to be a combination of the browser not liking Lectora's Javascript/Flash integration, as when the SWF is published with a regular HTML wrapper outside of Lectora, there are no issues.

Strangely, when uploaded to a LMS, the CS6 published SWF prompts to install Flash Player (even though it is already installed). The CS5 SWF doesn't.

Anyone have any ideas what could be the cause?

Discussion (1)

Figured it out. It was so simple I could hit myself. I will leave this here for anyone else who runs into something similar.

They're running Flash Player 10.2 here. Flash CS6 only allows you to export at the latest version of each Flash Player increment, so it only exports at Flash Player 10.3.

The reason Flash CS5 worked is it exported at 10.2 by default.

:EDIT:

Appears i'm wrong. Found a machine running 11.7 and the same problem occurs :(
