preview flash geturl not working offline

Just started using Lectora here, and we wish to use Flash with Lectora so that they can pass variables to each other. I have seen the posts and examples on this forum but they do not seem to work on anybody's machine locally unless put onto a server, where the same files published as html work absolutely fine. If we want to preview and test Flash to Lectora and vice versa communication, how can you test it locally without putting it on a production server?thanxblipstation
