Passing variables between pages

I am creating a page with a background graphics that has invisible buttons on parts of the image which opens a pop-up with a mult. choice question. I have a submit button on the question page that closes the page. I have also created a variable to pass that info to the parent window so that a text will show depending on what answer was chosen.Well I can't get the variable from the pop-up page, and capture it in the parent page so that I can do an action based on that variable. I want to do this all using lectora no hand coded jscript or what not.I am using Lectora 2006 Enterprise Edition. Thank you in advance for those that comes to my rescue!
