Actually, I think this can sometimes be a *good* thing, since one of the most common design mistakes folks make is trying to cram too much text onto a screen. Having a smaller amount of space (and a nice, large, readable font size, like 16pt), forces the designer to "chunk" their information more effectively and to word things more concisely.
