navigate to a page name stored in a var

the LMS we use has a few issues with opening new windows. So i would prefer to avoid that route. I have just tried using:javascript:trivExitPage(VAR(FAQMemory))in the web address. It said FAQMemory was undefined, presumably this means i am referencing it wrong? is there a special method i need to use to access a non LMS variable? i know for instance there is LMSGetValue() which can return the "special" LMS variables.
