mp3 cannot play in i-Pad

Hi,
I am developing one application for i-Pad using lectora.
i have to use audio in that application which is in the mp3 format.
As we all know that i-ipad doesn't support flvs. I kept the audio in mp3 format only (While publishing i uncheck the Audio).
I have kept the Audio On/Off button to play and stop the audio.
When i run the published application on the i-Pad the Audio is not played or load on clicking the button.
My question is how to play audio in mp3 format on i-pad and browser is safari (5.0.2)?
Please help me out with this..........
