Media Server/Hosting - Which is most recommended to use?
March 5, 2015 12:00 AM
We are looking for a media hosting server that can be used with Lectora and upload SCORM file to our LMS HealthStream.
Any recommendations?
Thank you

I do not quite understand what you need. Why would you need a server to upload files to your LMS?
Did you mean that you want to store media files for your courses on a 3rd party server, while other Lectora course files are stored on your LMS? If so, you have a million options like:
- YouTube
- Vimeo
- Kaltura
- Brightcove
- Vidizmo
- Ooyala
- Wzaar
- JWPlayer
etc etc etc, just look for "enterprise video hosting" online.
Or if you don't need streaming and re-encoding and just need to put the files somewhere, look at Amazon AWS / S3.
Like Irene, I want to use Streaming Video in my courses. I am testing Azure Media Services but having problems. When I select Insert undefined Streaming Video and select Windows Media Services from the drop down, then preview is not available and when I go to Preview mode (bottom bar), preview says "missing plugin".
My streaming video test file runs fine in VLC.

I will be running 6 to 10 minutes long videos. What is the best alternative here? Streaming from a media server was the obvious choice but I can´t get it to work.
I am using v. 16.1.1 trial version
