Matching pair question

I'm making progress. I have determined that if I turn off the inherited background (blue), I can now see the arrows. Guess they were appearing underneath.Problem is, I need the background and don't see a way to send it to the back. All of the text on the page is "always on top."I have tried turning off inheritance and adding a separate background, which I can then send to the back. However, I still don't get the arrows. Seems like I would have to move the question formatting to the front, but don't see an option.
