Yes (I do this all the time), but you'll need to convert the image to a .gif first. What I do is to copy the image and paste it into the Image Editor (part of the Pro Suite), then change the color resolution to 8-bit (necessary to save the image as a gif), then use the color pallette to choose a transparency color, then use the paint bucket with that color selected to fill in the parts of the image I want to be transparent. Finally, I save it as a .gif file and bring the .gif file in as my graphic. I've written these steps at a bit of a high level, but if you need me to walk you through the specific menu choices and stuff step-by-step, let me know and I'll post more detailed instructions. The downside of this (besides the fact that it's a royal pain in the you-know-where) is that you may have to make some color adjustments to the image to compensate for the greatly reduced color pallette you get with an 8-bit vs. 24-bit image. The upside is that, if your image used to be a .bmp and you go through this process and save it as a .gif, it will be a *much* smaller file.Hope this helps!
You could also use any commercially available grahics editor and save the image as an image type that supports transparency:GIFPNGWMFor, use the Image Editor in 2005 and save the image as a PNG for higher bit depths/color resolution.Tim V.
Tim - Are you saying that Lectora 2005 also includes improvements to the Image Editor? If so, YAY!!! Are there any other improvements besides the PNG format?
Can't really say ... I didn't work on the Image Editor this time around ... I'll have to check the release notes. I do know that PNG support was added to both Lectora and the Image Editor.Tim V
