Lost setting between SCO's

Hi,

I am using an LMS, with multiple SCO's used for multiple chapters. Does anyone know if there is a way to keep a setting between the SCO's? So, for example, if the person taking the course selects that they do not want captions, then this setting will persist throughout the course, and not just that FLV instance....or something along the lines of that. Any ideas?
