Links within a table?
November 11, 2013 12:00 AM
I've created a table with 3 columns and multiple rows. Each row has a title in col 1, and the word Job Aid in col2 and Manual in col3.
If I add a hyperlink to the text in Cols 2/3 all text has the same link. It appears that the entire table, treated as a single text box, is linked to the same URL.
How can I create the same layout with unique links for the text in cols 2/3?
Thanks!

I have created links within tables on occasion. I have a very large table in one title that I must have had trouble with embedding links, but I don't remember why. I created the title a couple years ago, but I constantly update it. For whatever reason, I ended up creating the table, then checking the Convert To Image option. I just place the links on top of the table. It's worked quite well. I just wish I remember why I needed to do this.
I tried to reproduce this and I'm not having that happen.
I made a table within Lectora. Populated the fields with text. Highlighted the text (not the row or column) and added hyperlinks. Each link goes to a different location. Make sure the link is on the text, not the table.

I'm having the same issue in text blocks and find it very frustrating to have to recreate work. I haven't found out the solution yet from the forum, but what I end up doing is delete the text block and recreate a new one and it tends to work fine. I also try deleting the link and starting over, which works sometimes. The other solution I revert to is to make separate text blocks for each link, which is a pain. There must be some mystery code behind the scene that creates this problem, as I can't find another explanation. I'd like to know what the problem is to avoid it going forward if you or anyone else has a suggestion.
Thanks,
Tisha
