Left over variables in template

I Don't mind left overs unless they have green mold on them. Recently, I converted an existing Lectora title to a template by striping the content. In the test section I reduced the number of questions from 12 to 4. Everything works just fine when I preview it. However, there are a couple of things still bugging me. The four test questions I used, 1, 5, 8, and 12, show up in the Reserved Variables list. I renumbered these test questions 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the tree that display in the user-defined variables. On the page where I display the final test score, I use a series of ACTIONS that result in adding the scores of all 12 questions. Even though I have renumbered four questions in the tree, I am guessing I need to retain the 1, 5, 8, and 12 scoring ACTION icons because I suppose they correspond to those questions in the Reserved Variables list.If this doesn't make sense, I'll try now to explain it in another way: I have 12 original questions of which I only use four. I deleted all the remaining 8 questions in the tree. Now I am ready to reduce the scoring ACTION icons in the tree. Should I retain the scoring actions 1,2,3,and 4 or should I retain 1,5,8, and 12? Or does it matter becaus all of the Actions are the same?

Issue no. 2: I have published to AICC/Web, and the course does not launch. What should I look for first, or where should I look? Recall that this is converted from a course that originally relied on flash and Java scripting--and now is being converted to Lecotra's native programming. Thanks,
