Lectora X to 11 quiz feedback does not show

I have a 100 question test that was created in Lectora 10. When published (SCORM) in Lectora 11, there are a handfull of questions that do not play feedback on Submit. Feedback is enabled, On Process Question and Individual Feedback by Choice are all selected. Display Message is the action selected for feedback. I cannot figure out why only a few questions in the test do not display the feedback and just move to the next question while all other question feedback display as they should. I can't identify any differences in settings. Has anyone experienced this? More importantly, has anyone found the cause? Need help!

You probably saw this thread: http://lectora.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14540

There are at least three potential solutions.

Also, can you post an example?

Thank you, I did see the thread you indicated. There are no "non-standard" characters or line breaks in the questions. The test scores correctly, it just skips displaying the feedback for a few of the questions when the Submit button for the question is clicked.

Hi, I have the same problem. I had been working with Lectora Tech Support and it has now been escalated to the developers but I am long awaiting a response. However, I have narrowed down the problem, so you may be able to create a work around.

I was experiencing that when only certain answers were selected on a quiz question, the feedback did not appear. What I realized is that certain characters used is what causes the problem. So far, from what I have found, only these 3 characters cause the problem:

1. Apostraphe ( ' )

2. Quotation ( " )

3. Hard return - so if your answer is 2 lines and you hit enter at the end of the first line and space over so the first letter of both lines are aligned.

Like I said, I figured it out and let Tech Support be aware of it. They have kind of dropped the ball and have not gotten back to me in a few weeks now... But hopefully this may help you to avoid these 3 characters in your answers.

Thank you Alliehh. In my case it was most likely the ' that caused the feedback not to display. My work around was to delete the culprit questions and re-enter them using the "create submit" button that appears in 11 for a new question, and then exclude the inherited submit button for that question. This caused the feedback to appear for each question and scoring was still accurate.

Thank you both for this thread. I had the same problem and finally searched the board.

It's kind of a crazy bug!!! This should be pretty simple string manipulation for the Lectora programmers for allow for special characters. C'mon Trivantis -- get with it!!!
