Lectora X - Closed Captioning?

I recently did this for a project and it was completely manual, but did work... Basically, I added an invisible text box with no text in it, and I put sections of CC text in variables. Then I created a series of actions to change the contents of the text box on timed cues.
Also, I made buttons that turned the text box visible and invisible (turned on and off closed captioning). Since the CC had to last over several pages, I also had these buttons modify a variable so that the course could "remember" whether CC was on or off and show the text box accordingly, from page to page.
Other than the large amount of manual effort involved in this, it has the disadvantage that if your video streams irregularly, the CC will not sync with the video. But in this case, I just had to go with it because it was a small amount of narration, and it was more efficient than learning something new!
