Lectora menu under Vista not responding

This looks like an older topic, but I'm sure more and more people will be getting Vista computers. After playing around with the suggestions in this post, I discovered for my computer that the only item I had to uncheck in the Visual Effects tab was "Enable desktop composition". Unfortunately, this takes away all the cool effects Vista provides for the menu bars and backgrounds.
