Launching in a new window.

I am trying to package my course into blackboard, however when launched it is too big to fit within the frame allowed in the blackboard skin without a scroll bar. Is there a way I can have my course launch in a new window? Obviously I'm a real newbie.Edited By: tgreene on 38440.5350578704

HiHave you tried tried to alter the properties of the link to the content that's placed in BlackBoard? You have to select a property like "New window" or "blank" for the link if possible. The typical link is built of HTML code like:LINK TITLEwhere the target attribute is only needed if you eg wish to open a link in a new window or another frame (if frames are used).Targeting a new window would require you to set the target attribute to be "_blank" as in the following example:LINK TITLEHere's some more info on the HTML target attribute: The HTML TARGET attributeI hope this helps.
This is actually a bug/problem within blackboard....it occurs with all kinds of external files including powerpoint files. The problem is that external links can launch in a separate window but files that are uploaded to blackboard (e.g. Office files etc.) cannot. For some dumb reason they forgot to include the checkbox that allows for launch of uploaded files into their own window....go figure... There are two workarounds...One solution is to place your Lectora web file on a different webserver and create an external link to the index.html file. By doing so you get the option to launch in an external window. The second solution is to create a learning unit with Blackboard. At the units creation you can specify you want it to open in its own window. Then, after creating the learning unit, you go in and add your files treating the learning unit like a folder. It puts headers on the top and bottom but it may still give you enough screen geography to do what you want. The real solution is for Blackboard to fix this. I have raised this issue with them numerous times but they keep claiming it is the first they are hearing about it.Edited By: tekprof on 38456.5272106482
